Zum sechsten Mal hat die Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V. (GI) verdiente Persönlichkeiten aus der Informatikszene zu "GI-Fellows" ernannt. GI-Fellows zeichnen sich durch herausragende Beiträge technisch-wissenschaftlicher Art zur Informatik aus. Es können aber auch Personen gewürdigt werden, die sich um die Gesellschaft für Informatik oder um die Informatik im Allgemeinen verdient gemacht haben.
Im Jahr 2007 hat das Auswahlkomitee unter der Leitung des ehemaligen GI-Präsidenten Heinrich C. Mayr fünf Persönlichkeiten ausgewählt, die auf der größten Informatikkonferenz im deutschsprachigen Raum, der INFORMATIK 2007 http://www.informatik2007.de, bei einem feierlichen Bankett am 26. September 2007 im Weltkulturerbe Obere Rathaushalle in Bremen zum GI-Fellow ernannt worden sind:

* Dipl.-Inform. Veronika Oechtering, Universität Bremen
* Prof. Dr. Alexander Rossnagel, Universität Kassel
* Prof. Dr. Andreas Spillner, Hochschule Bremen
* Prof. Dr. Klaus Waldschmidt, Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe-Universität Frankfurt/Main
