Hohe Auszeichnung für Prof. Dr. jur. Gerd Ferdinand Kirchhoff von der Fachhochschule Niederrhein: Beim 10. Internationalen Symposium der World Society of Victimology in Montreal ist der Mönchengladbacher Strafrechtler zu deren Präsidenten gewählt worden. In der Gesellschaft beschäftigen sich etwa 500 Viktimologen, Kriminologen, Psychologen und Politiker aus rund 50 Ländern mit den Rechten von Opfern krimineller Taten und setzen sich für deren Schutz und Hilfe ein. Professor Kirchhoff, der seit 1985 dem Vorstand der Gesellschaft angehört und in den letzten 12 Jahren ihr Generalsekretär war, wird sein neues Amt bis zum nächsten Symposium in drei Jahren in Südafrika ausüben.
