Nach zwei dreijährigen Berufungsperioden scheidet Prof. Dr. Gert G. Wagner, Mitglied und ehemaliger Vorsitzender des Rates für Sozial- und Wirtschaftsdaten (RatSWD), planmäßig aus dem Wissenschaftsrat aus. Gert G. Wagner ist Professor für Volkswirtschaftslehre an der Technischen Universität Berlin sowie Leiter der Abteilung 'Längsschnittstudie Sozio-oekonomisches Panel' und Forschungsdirektor am Deutschen Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung (DIW Berlin).
Seine Nachfolgerin im Wissenschaftsrat ist Prof. Regina T. Riphahn, PhD, Lehrstuhlinhaberin für Statistik und Empirische Sozialforschung an der Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. Regina T. Riphahn war in der ersten Berufungsperiode Mitglied im RatSWD.
Die Berufung von Frau Professor Riphahn in den Wissenschaftsrat unterstreicht wieder einmal die Relevanz der empirischen Sozial- und Wirtschaftsforschung in Deutschland.
