Seit dem 1. Februar dieses Jahres hat Prof. Dr. Alfred H. Gitter das Amt des Dekans im Fachbereich Medizintechnik und Biotechnologie der Fachhochschule Jena inne.
Prof. Dr. phil. nat. habil. Alfred H. Gitter wurde im Jahr 2002 zum Professor für Biophysik und Bioinformatik an der Fachhochschule Jena berufen.
Alfred H. Gitter studierte in Göttingen Physik und promovierte 1988 zum Dr. phil. nat. im Fachbereich Physik der Goethe-Universität in Frankfurt/Main. Danach war er unter anderem als Gastwissenschaftler an der University of California Medical School in San Francisco tätig. 2001 habilitierte Dr. Gitter für das Fach Physiologie im Fachbereich Humanmedizin der Freien Universität Berlin.
Prof. Dr. Gitter lehrt die Fächer Biophysik und Bioinformatik in den Bachelor- und Master-Studiengängen Medizintechnik und Pharma-Biotechnologie der FH Jena. Sein primäres Forschungsgebiet ist die Elektrophysiologie. Er kann auf zahlreiche Publikationen verweisen. Prof. Gitter ist verheiratet und Vater zweier Söhne, Lucas und Richard, die in Jena zur Schule gehen.
