Baumwolle - ökologisch, nachhaltig und fair gehandelt: Die grüne Welle ist ein erfolgreiches Segment auf dem Markt geworden und verspricht weiteres Wachstum. Doch was bedeutet hier Nachhaltigkeit? Wie effizient ist die Produktion von "Organic Cotton" und welche Alternativen gibt es? Hat die konventionelle Baumwolle in punkto Umweltschutz aufgeholt? Zu diesem Thema veranstaltet das Faserinstitut, ein enger Kooperationspartner der Universität Bremen zusammen mit der Bremer Baumwollbörse vom 2. bis 5. April 2008 die 29. Internationale Baumwoll-Konferenz. Dazu kommen rund 600 Expertinnen und Experten aus Wissenschaft, Handel und Industrie aus über 40 Nationen in die Hansestadt.
