Die GMD - Forschungszentrum Informationstechnik GmbH stiftet der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin eine Professur. Seit mehr als zwei Jahren ist das Institut für Informatik der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in Adlershof unmittelbarer Nachbar des GMD-Institutes für Rechnerarchitektur und Softwaretechnik (FIRST). In dieser Zeit hat sich die Zusammenarbeit so vertieft, dass die GMD nun dem Institut für Informatik eine neue Professur stiftet. Diese ist auf Dauer angelegt; ihr Inhaber wird zugleich in die Co-Leitung des Institutes FIRST integriert.
Die neue Professur nutzt beiden Seiten: Die GMD kann ausgewählte Studierende in ihre Projektarbeit eingliedern und Studierende lernen so schon in der Ausbildung große und praxisnahe Softwareprojekte kennen.
Eine gemeinsame Kommission beider Partner wurde bereits eingerichtet. Die Professur wird demnächst ausgeschrieben.
