1.761.290.000 DM für die Max-Planck-Gesellschaft
Die Bund-Länder-Kommission für Bildungsplanung und Forschungsförderung (BLK) hat heute beschlossen, die Max-Planck-Gesellschaft (MPG) im Jahr 2001 mit 1,761 Mrd. DM zu fördern - eine Steigerung gegenüber dem Vorjahr um 3 %.
Die MPG ist die wichtigste Organisation für die Grundlagenforschung außerhalb der Hochschulen in Deutschland. Sie umfasst 77 Institute/Forschungsstellen und vier sonstige Forschungseinrichtungen. Die MPG beschäftigt weit über 11.000 Mitarbeiter, davon gut 3.000 Wissenschaftler. Zusätzlich sind für die MPG im Jahresverlauf annähernd 6.500 studentische Hilfskräfte, Doktoranden, Postdoktoranden und Gastwissenschaftler tätig.
