Am Dienstag, 24. Juni 1997, tagte zum ersten Mal das vom Konvent neu gewählte Rektorat der FernUniversität - Gesamthochschule in Hagen. Mitglieder sind neben dem Rektor, Prof. Helmut Hoyer, und dem Kanzler, Ralf Bartz, Prof. Dr. Georg Simonis - Kommission für Planung und Finanzen Prof. Dr. Alfred Endres - Kommission für Forschung und wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchs Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Beekmann - Kommission für Lehre, Studium und Studienreform Prof. Dr.Dr. Thomas Vormbaum - Kommission für Weiterbildung.
Die Amtszeit der Prorektoren endet am 31.03.1998.
