Die International University in Germany (IU) ist dabei, ein neues, interdisziplinäres Forschungszentrum aufzubauen: das Technology Center for Emerging Markets (TechCEM).
Das TechCEM wird sich mit den wirtschaftlichen, informationstechnischen, kommunikations- und kulturwissenschaftlichen Aspekten des Dienstleistungssektors in kleinen und mittelständischen Unternehmen von Schwellenländern befassen, wobei der Hauptschwerpunkt auf den BRICS-Ländern (Brasilien, Russland, Indien, China und Südafrika) liegen wird.
"Mit der Gründung dieses neuen Forschungsinstitutes unterstreichen wir unsere Stellung als international ausgerichtete, forschungsorientierte Campushochschule mit interdisziplinär angelegten Studiengängen", so der Kanzler der Hochschule, Michael Scheithauer.
Als erste Partner sind vom Präsidenten der International University, Prof. Dr. Ian Cloete, bereits die SAP-Forschungszentren in Walldorf, Karlsruhe und Pretoria, Südafrika, sowie das Meraka-Institut (African Advanced Institute for Information & Communication Technology) in Pretoria, Südafrika, gewonnen worden.
