Prof. Dr. h. c. mult. Paul Müller (Fachbereich VI, Biogeographie) wurde von der Sanga Sabhasri Research Foundation, die nach dem früheren Wissenschaftsminister Thailands benannt ist, zum Vizepräsidenten gewählt.
Die Stiftung hat Ihren Sitz in Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden in Chiang Mai. Ihr Ziel ist die Förderung von Untersuchungen zur Biodiversität und Bioanalytik in den Tropen.
Prof. Müller arbeitet seit über zwei Jahrzehnten in den Tropen auf den Südkontinenten.
