Das "Center for IT-Standards in the Energy Sector", kurz CISE, wird am 23.10.2008 um 13 Uhr im Rahmen einer Eröffnungsveranstaltung im Oldenburger Informatik-Institut OFFIS der Öffentlichkeit vorgestellt. Das neue Zentrum bündelt Kompetenzen rund um Standards in der Energiewirtschaft und bietet Beratung, Forschung und Prüfungen auf Einhaltung von Standards bei der Entwicklung von Software an.
Im Rahmen der Eröffnungsveranstaltung stellt OFFIS-Vorstand Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. H.-Jürgen Appelrath das Zentrum vor, Dr. Werner Brinker, Vorstandsvorsitzender der EWE AG, spricht über die Bedeutung von Standards für die Energiewirtschaft, und Herr Dr. Franz Hein, Leiter der so genannten EDNA-Initiative referiert über Standards für die Automatisierung der Energielogistik.
