Gdansk and the Pomorskie region strengthen their ties with the Baltic Sea Region. The Baltic Center for Biotechnology and Innovative Diagnostics, BioBaltica, was established in 2008 as a joint venture between the Medical University of Gdansk, the Gdansk University of Technology, the University of Gdansk and the Pomorskie region. BioBaltica now goes one step further both becoming a member of ScanBalt plus establishing a ScanBalt Liaison Office in Gdansk. The role of the liaison office will be to coordinate the international collaborations of the life science cluster in the Pomorskie region.
