Der Stifterverband bedauert, dass sich Bund und Länder in der Gemeinsamen Wissenschaftskonferenz heute nicht auf ein bundesweites Stipendiensystem als Public Private Partnership einigen konnten.
"Der große Wurf ist ausgeblieben", bedauert Stifterverbandsgeneralsekretär Andreas Schlüter. Der Stifterverband wirbt schon länger für ein Modell, das Stipendienmittel von Staat und Wirtschaft in gleicher Höhe kombiniert. Auf diese Weise könnten nach Überzeugung des Stifterverbandes zusätzliche private Mittel in Millionenhöhe für die Hochschulbildung mobilisiert werden. Zudem könne das neue Stipendiensystem gezielte Akzente setzen, indem es junge Leute ermutige, die als erste in ihrer Familie die Aufnahme eines Studiums wagten. "Diese Chance wurde heute verpasst, aber das Thema bleibt auf der Agenda", so Schlüter.
