Chemnitz University of Technology is hosting an international congress - the registration form is available at the congress website
The Chemnitz University of Technology is hosting the international congress "Ideas of Europe / Ideas for Europe" in cooperation with academic institutions within Europe and abroad. The congress will take place in Chemnitz, 6-9 May 2009, under the patronage of the President of the European Commission, Mr José Manuel Barroso. Mr Barroso will also be awarded the academic degree Honoris Causa from Chemnitz University of Technology.
Internationally renowned experts in the humanities and social sciences will meet to discuss heterogeneous concepts of European identity from Antiquity to the 21st century. Further information (e.g. programme, abstracts) are available on the congress website (http://www.tu-chemnitz.de/ideaseurope).
The conference will be held at the Chemnitz University of Technology. Chemnitz is located in the heart of the enlarged Europe and the university specialises in European Studies. Due to its extensive network of European contacts, the Chemnitz University of Technology is an ideal host for this event.
