Christof Rühl ist Chef-Volkswirt der internationalen BP Gruppe. Er leitet das Global Economics Team von BP in London und analysiert die Weltwirtschaft und Energiemärkte. Er kam 2005 zu BP und hat zuvor als Ökonom profunde Erfahrung in Lehre und Wirtschaft sowie als politischer Berater gesammelt. So war er seit 1998 bei der Weltbank, wo er als Chef-Volkswirt in Russland und Brasilien arbeitete. Seine Spezialgebiete sind Makroökonomie und Energiewirtschaft.
