Vallendar, 29. März 2001. Die WHU hat Dr. Paul Achleitner zum Honorarprofessor bestellt. Für die WHU, insbesondere für ihre Programme im Bereich Finanzierung, stellt Dr. Achleitner eine Bereicherung dar. Er wird an der WHU künftig ein erweitertes Lehrprogramm anbieten.
Dr. Achleitner hat im Investment Banking und der Unternehmensberatung gearbeitet und ist heute Finanzvorstand der Allianz Versicherungs-AG. 1985 wurde er an der Universität St. Gallen promoviert. Er war als wissenschaftlicher Assistent tätig und wirkte am Forschungsprojekt "European Societal Strategy" von Prof. H. Igor Ansoff am European Institut for Advanced Studies in Management in Brüssel mit. Von 1982 bis 1984 war er Visiting Fellow an der Harvard Business School.
Dr. Achleitner hat in den Jahren 1988 bis 1999 an der Wirtschaftshochschule Wien gelehrt. Die WHU konnte ihn 1999 als externen Dozenten für "International Mergers & Acquisitions" gewinnen. Im laufenden Jahr wird er erstmals über "Investment Banking" sprechen. Er hat in namhaften nationalen und internationalen Zeitschriften publiziert.
