Die Veranstaltungssprache ist englisch. An den Vortrag schließen sich eine Diskussion mit Elinor Ostrom sowie ein Empfang mit Imbiss an.
Elinor Ostrom ist Inhaberin der Arthur F. Bentley Professur für Politische Wissenschaften und Ko-Direktorin des Workshops „Politische Theorie und Politische Analyse“ an der Indiana University in Bloomington. Darüber hinaus hat sie dort eine Professur für Public and Environmental Affairs inne und ist Ko-Direktorin des ebenfalls an der Indiana University angesiedelten „Center for the Study of Institutions, Population, and Environmental Change“ (CIPEC). Elinor Ostrom war unter anderem Präsidentin der American Political Science Association, der Public Choice Society und hat neben zahlreichen Ehrendoktorwürden auch eine Vielzahl bedeutender wissenschaftlicher Preise und Auszeichnungen erhalten. Im vergangenen Jahr erhielt sie den Nobelpreis für Wirtschaftswissenschaften.
