Der Rektor der TU Clausthal, Professor Dr. Ernst Schaumann, ernannte Professor Dr. Lutz Angermann, Universität Magdeburg, zum Professor (C4) für "Numerische Mathematik".
Professor Dr. Lutz Angermann, geboren 1959 in Radeberg bei Dresden, studierte von 1977-1982 an der Staatlichen Universität Charkow (UdSSR, heute Ukraine) Mathematik mit Nebenfach Physik.
Nach der mit Auszeichnung bestandenen Diplomarbeit ging Lutz Angermann an die TU Dresden zur Promotion. Im Jahr 1987 promovierte er mit einer Arbeit über "Die Grundgleichungen der inneren Elektronik als Evolutionsproblem im Banach-Raum - Modellanalysis und Semidiskretisierung" .
1995 habilitierte sich Dr. Angermann (" A posteriori Fehlerabschätzungen für Lösungen gestörter Operatorgleichungen"). Von der Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg aus übernahm Dr. Angermann die Wahrnehmung einer Vertretungsprofessur für Numerische Mathematik am Institut für Analysis und Numerik der Universität Magdeburg (1997) und wurde 1998 zum Professor (C3) für Numerische Mathematik an der Universität Magdeburg berufen.
Seit 1999 ist Professor Dr. Lutz Angerman Geschäftsführender Leiter des Institutes für Analysis und Numerik der Universität Magdeburg. Seine neue Aufgabe an der TU Clausthal tritt Professor Angermann zum 1. November an.
