Am 08. Februar 2011 wählte der Senat der Hochschule für Telekommunikation Leipzig (HfTL) zwei neue Prorektoren.
Der Senat folgte den Wahlvorschlägen des Rektors, Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Volker Saupe.
Prof. Dr. Jean-Alexander Müller wurde zum Prorektor für Studium und Forschung gewählt. Er übernimmt das Amt von Prof. Dr.-Ing. Detlef Schlayer, welcher seit 1999 dieses Amt innehatte und nicht wieder kandidierte.
Prof. Dr. Jean-Alexander Müller ist seit 2008 an der Hochschule im Lehrgebiet IP-Networking tätig. Schwerpunkt seiner aktuellen Forschungsprojekte sind die Bereiche intelligente Stromnetze, Elektromobilität und vernetzte Fahrzeuge.
Prof. Dr. Claus Baderschneider übernimmt das Amt eines Prorektors für Marketing und Internationale Beziehungen. Prof. Baderschneider lehrt seit 2009 an der Hochschule in den Gebieten Betriebswirtschaftslehre und Marketing. Prof. Baderschneider hat bisher an der Erarbeitung der Hochschulstrategie intensiv mitgewirkt.
Beide Prorektoren sind für die Dauer von fünf Jahren gewählt und beginnen ihr Amt am 01. März 2011.
