The website of the Baden-Württemberg Stiftung is now available in English, in line with the foundation‘s goal to reach international audience. Visitors can find selected information about projects, programmes, and tenders, or download publications at http://www.bwstiftung.de/en.
The German state of Baden-Württemberg has been one of the leading drivers of innovation in Europe for decades. Since its establishment in 2000, the Baden-Württemberg Stiftung, based in Stuttgart, considers strengthening this position to be a core part of its mission. To date, the foundation has invested more than 220 million euros into research programmes in the fields of life sciences, photonics, miniaturisation, environment and energy, regional development, social and economic sciences as well as science programmes for children and teenagers. The foundation also actively promotes the closest possible collaboration between universities, research institutes, and industry in order to help bridge the gap between the creation of new knowledge and the development of practical applications. With a strong dedication to international exchange, the Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM offered by the foundation – one of the largest scholarship programmes in Germany – also makes it possible for talented students from abroad to spend time at a university in Baden-Württemberg.
The English website offers an informative look at a selection of programmes the foundation has launched to date – many of which can rightly claim a place in the vanguard of global research.
