Das Fraunhofer-Institut für Biomedizinische Technik IBMT, Institutsteil Potsdam-Golm, stellt zwischen dem 11. und 13. Oktober 2011 im Rahmen der BIOTECHNICA 2011 in Hannover aktuelle Entwicklungen im Bereich der In-vitro-Diagnostik aus.
Das Fraunhofer IBMT als eines der sechs Institute im Fraunhofer Life Sciences Verbund bietet verschiedenste Techniken und Entwicklungen für die moderne In-vitro Diagnostik (ivD) an. Unter anderem kann die gesamte Wertschöpfungskette vom Biomarker bis hin zum fertigen ivD-Produkt bereitgestellt werden. Dabei können durch die Nutzung verschiedener Proben (Kryobiotechnologie) und den Zugang zu verschiedenen Pathologien innerhalb Europas mittels einer Metadatenbank (CRIP) neue Biomarker für eine Vielzahl von Anwendungen gefunden werden. Diese Biomarker können dann durch vielfältigste Entwicklungsplattformen wie etwa Sensortechnologie, Mikroarrayherstellung oder andere Plattformen (Lab-on-a-Chip) zu einem marktfähigen Diagnostikum entwickelt werden.
