Gert G. Wagner, 49, Forschungsdirektor am DIW Berlin und Leiter der Abteilung "Längsschnittdaten und Mikroanalyse", ist vom 1. April 2002 an Lehrstuhlinhaber für Volkswirtschaftslehre, insbesondere Empirische Wirtschaftsforschung und Wirtschaftspolitik, an der Technischen Universität Berlin. Wagner lehrte bislang an der Europa-Universität Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder). Von 1992 bis 1997 war er Lehrstuhlinhaber an der Ruhr-Universität Bochum. Im Jahre 1997 hatte Wagner einen Ruf an die Universität Göttingen abgelehnt.
Wagners Berufung an die Technische Universität Berlin ist ein aktuelles Beispiel für die Stärkung der Zusammenarbeit des DIW Berlin mit den Universitäten.
