Die Ehrendoktorwürde verleiht der Fachbereich Kultur- und Sozialwissenschaften (vormals Erziehungs-, Sozial- und Geisteswissenschaften) der FernUniversität Hagen am Donnerstag, 4. Juli, an Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Nicholas Rescher, University of Pittsburgh, Dept. of Philosophy. Die Verleihung findet im Senatssaal der FernUniversität auf dem Campus, Gebäude AVZ, Universitätsstraße, statt und beginnt um 16 Uhr.
Nach einem Grußwort von Rektor Prof. Dr.-Ing. Helmut Hoyer spricht der Dekan des Fachbereichs, Prof. Dr. Kurt Röttgers, einführende Worte. Die Laudatio hält Prof. Dr. Jan P. Beckmann, Institut für Philosophie. Der Vortrag von Prof. Nicholas Rescher hat das Thema "Der amphibische Mensch: Einwohner der Bereiche Realität und Fiktion".
