Informatik und Medientechnologie kommen einander immer näher - eine Entwicklung, die erfordert, das Individuum in der technischen Umwelt neu zu positionieren. "Ein visionärer Forschungszweig, der sich diesem Thema widmet, sollte Anthropomatik heißen", verlangt Peter Weibel, Vorstand des Zentrums für Kunst und Medientechnologie (ZKM) in Karlsruhe. Als Gastredner beim Semesterkolloquium der Fakultät für Informatik spricht

über "Anthropomatik = I3. Neue Interfaces zwischen Informatik und Individuum".
Das Semesterkolloquium findet statt am 8. Juli, 17.30 Uhr, im Hörsaal der Nachrichtentechnischen Institute (NTI), Engesserstraße 5, Gebäude-Nr. 30.10, Raum 030.
Karlsruhe biete als eine Ursprungsstätte der Informatik und mit und dem ZKM vor Ort optimale Voraussetzungen, neue Entwicklungen in Gang zu setzen, betont Weibel. Erfolge etwa in der Erforschung menschengerechter Medientechniken (zum Beispiel Robotik, Prothetik, Visualisierung, medizinische Bildgebungstechniken, Schnittstellentechnologie, neuronale Steuerungstechniken) legten es nahe, diese Aktivitäten in dem geplanten Zentrum für Anthropomatik in der umgebauten Kinderklinik am Durlacher Tor konzentriert zu entfalten. In diesem institutionellen Rahmen sollten laut Weibel die Universität Karlsruhe und das ZKM einen gemeinsamen Graduiertenstudiengang Anthropomatik aufbauen, der die Fachgebiete Informatik, Cultural Studies und Medientechnik umfasst.
