Begleitend zu der Bayreuther Ringvorlesung "Religiöse Themen in der Musik des 20. Jahrhunderts" wurde eine CD mit Jazz-Musik produziert.
"Open Ears": CD-Produktion zur Ringvorlesung "Religiöse Themen in der Musik des 20. Jahrhunderts
Bayreuth (UBT). Praxis trifft Theorie: Begleitend zu der Ringvorlesung "Religiöse Themen in der Musik des 20. Jahrhunderts" (Professor Helmut Bieler / Musikpädagogik, Professor Dr. Wolfgang Schoberth / Systematische Theologie) wurde an der Universität Bayreuth eine CD mit Jazz-Musik produziert. Sie trägt den Titel "Open Ears" und wurde von dem Trio "Outside 3" unter der Leitung von Professor Schoberth eingespielt.
Stilistisch ist die sehr transparente Musik des Trios dem Free Jazz zuzurechnen. Die Künstler heißen Norbert Dötschel (Schlagzeug, Percussion), Christoph Mangelsdorf (Saxophon, Gitarre, Stimme) und Wolfgang Schoberth (Saxophon, Gitarre, Bassello).
Die CD enthält 15 Stücke, die mit Ausnahme des Kirchenliedes "Wer nur den lieben Gott läßt walten" (Georg Neumark 1641/1657) Kompositionen und Arrangements der Band-Mitglieder darstellen.
