Die Professorin Judit E. Puskas ist Spezilistin für thermoplastische Elastomere, lehrt an der kanadischen University of Western Ontario und hat kürzlich eine einjährige Mercator-Gastprofessur der DFG an der Universität Bayreuth erhalten.

Bayreuth (UBT). Thermoplastische Elastomere, dabei speziell deren umweltfreundlichen Polymerisationsprozesse und deren Anwendungen in der Medizintechnik sind das Spzielgebiet der kanadischen Professorin Judit E. Puskas, der die Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft kürzlich im Rahmen des Mercator-Programms einen einjährigen Gastaufenthaltes am Bayreuther Lehrstuhl für Polymere Werkstoffe (Prof. Dr.-Ing. Volker Altstädt) als "full professor" bewilligte.
Die Wissenschaftlerin hat einen Bayer-NSERC Industrial Research Chair in Elastomer Technology und ist gleichzeitig Leiterin des Macromolecular Engineering Research Centre an der University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Kanada.
Der Aufenthalt von Frau Prof. Puskas soll den Aufbau des wichtigen Fachgebietes der thermoplastischen Elastomere in der Forschung und Lehre am Lehrstuhl für Polymere Werkstoffe unterstützen.
