Jenaer Philosophie-Professor Küppers wurde gewählt
Jena (26.09.02) In den Senat der Europäischen Akademie der Wissenschaften und Künste ist jetzt Prof. Dr. Dr. Dr. h. c. Bernd-Olaf Küppers gewählt worden. Der Philosophie-Professor von der Universität Jena gehört damit "dem höchsten Führungsgremium der Akademie" an, das deren Programm und Projekte bestimmt.
Die Akademie, der Küppers seit 1,5 Jahren angehört, mit Sitz in Wien und Salzburg hat rund 1.200 Mitglieder aus aller Welt. Zu ihren Aufgaben gehört es, interdisziplinär und grenzüberschreitend die brennenden Themen der Gegenwart zu bearbeiten.
Prof. Küppers (58) ist promovierter Physiker und habilitierter Philosoph. Seit 1994 ist er Professor für Naturphilosophie an der Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena. 1999 verlieh ihm die Nagaoka University of Technology in Japan die Ehrendoktorwürde.
