Michael Botts Business Development & Communications Department
Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V.

The deciding bodies of the Laser Zentrum Hannover e. V. (LZH) have made a change in the organization’s statutes, accompanied by a new management structure. With immediate effect the top management consists of the general assembly of the membership, the Supervisory Board and the Board of Directors.
Dr. Horst Schrage, chief executive of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Hannover, was chosen as Chairperson of the Supervisory Board.
The executive members of the Board of Directors, who are responsible for the operational activities of the LZH, now consist of two scientific-technical executives, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ludger Overmeyer and Dr. Dietmar Kracht, and the commercial executive Klaus Ulbrich. Prof. Overmeyer, who is new to the team, is also head of the Institute of Transport- and Automation Technology of the Leibniz Universität Hannover (LUH).
Two newly created bodies, the Scientific Directorate and the Industrial Advisory Board, are composed of reputable scientists and executives from industries in Lower Saxony and elsewhere in Germany. As members of the Board of Directors of the LZH, both the chairperson of the Scientific Directorate, Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Ertmer (Institut für Quantenoptik, LUH), and of the Industrial Advisory Board, Dr. Volker Schmidt (Niedersachsenmetall) guarantee that there is an intensive exchange of information concerning new impulses from science and business.
The new leadership structure combines both scientific and industrial competencies, and guarantees that the LZH will continue its future-oriented development.
