Auf der 25. Hauptversammlung am 18. Oktober 2013 des europäischen Hochschulverbands CESAER (Conference of European Schools for Advanced Engineering and Research) an der RWTH Aachen wurde der Präsident der Technischen Universität Berlin, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Prof. h. c. Jörg Steinbach, für zwei Jahre, von 2014 bis 2015, zum „President-Elect“ in das „Management Committee“ gewählt. Das „Management Committee“ leitet den Verbund CESAER, in dem über 50 europäische Universitäten und Hochschulen mit technischem Schwerpunkt aus 24 Nationen vertreten sind. Prof. Karel Luyben, Rektor Magnificus der TU Delft, wurde nach seiner Zeit als „President-Elect“ nun zum Präsidenten ernannt.
Mit dem Verbund CESAER werden exzellente Lehre und Forschung in den Ingenieurwissenschaften sowie Innovationen gefördert. www.cesaer.org
