Das Zentrum fördert den Aufbau von Kontakten und Projekten mit kalifornischen Universitäten, Forschungsinstituten und Industriepartnern in den High-Tech-Bereichen Life Sciences, Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologie und vieles mehr.
Vizepräsident Professor Dr.-Ing. Dieter Brüggemann wurde jetzt auf Vorschlag der Bayerischen Rektorenkonferenz vom Staatsministerium für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Kunst für zwei Jahre zum Mitglied des dreiköpfigen Leitungsgremiums des Bayerisch-Kalifornischen Hochschulzentrums (Bavaria California Technology Center, BaCaTeC) bestellt. Das an der Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg angesiedelte Zentrum fördert den Aufbau von Kontakten und Projekten mit kalifornischen Universitäten, Forschungsinstituten und Industriepartnern in den High-Tech-Bereichen Life Sciences, Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologie, Neue Werkstoffe, Umwelttechnik und Mechatronik. BaCaTeC unterstützt dabei die Anbahnung konkreter bayerisch-kalifornischer Kooperationen durch Übernahme von Reise- und Aufenthaltskosten. Weitere Informationen sind unter www.bacatec.de zu finden.
