Das neue Landeshochschulgesetz vom Juli 2002 sieht für die HMT das Promotions- und Habilitationsrecht für ihre wissenschaftlichen Fächer vor. Dies an der HMT zu etablieren, war lange in der Diskussion. Für die HMT bedeutet der Besitz dieser akademischen Rechte eine deutliche Zunahme an Attraktivität. In der vergangenen Woche stimmte der Senat der HMT der Promotionsordnung zu und erließ sie als Satzung. Bereits drei Doktoranden befassen sich am Institut für Musikwissenschaft und Musikpädagogik mit Themen zur antiken Musiktheorie, Musik der Grufti-Szene und dem Philosophen Descartes. Betreut werden die Arbeiten von Prof. Dr. Hartmut Möller.
