Die Fachzeitschrift „Light: Science & Applications“ (LSA) wurde im Juli im Journal Citation Report mit einem Impact-Faktor von 8,476 bewertet. Als Co-Chefredakteur begleitet Dr.-Ing. Stefan Kaierle, Abteilungsleiter am Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V., das 2012 ins Leben gerufenen Open-Access-Journal der Nature Publishing Group (NPG) von Anfang an.
In dem von Thomson Reuters erstellten Ranking erreicht die Zeitschrift mit ihrer ersten Bewertung bereits den vierten Platz von 82 Fachzeitschriften im Bereich Optik.

„Die hohe Bewertung des Journals zeigt, dass sich unsere Arbeit in den letzten Jahren gelohnt hat“, erklärt Stefan Kaierle, Abteilungsleiter Werkstoff- und Prozesstechnik am LZH.
Im Juli wurde Stefan Kaierle auf dem Editorial Board-Meeting am Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics (CIOMP), China, als Co-Chefredakteur von “Light: Science & Applications” bestätigt. Er sagt: „Mit der Zeitschrift konnten wir ein erfolgreiches Forum für die internationale Forschung im Bereich Optik und Photonik aufbauen. Ich freue mich darauf, die Arbeit daran fortzusetzen.“
