AvH Fellow as Postdoctoral Researcher at the Chair for Separation Science & Technology

Dipl.-Volkswirt Thomas Jung Presse- und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit
Technische Universität Kaiserslautern

On April 2, 2015 Dr. Krishna Kumar Singh has joined the Chair for Separation Science & Technology at TU Kaiserslautern as a postdoctoral researcher. Dr. Singh has been awarded the Research Fellowship for Postdoctoral Researchers by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. He will work with Professor Hans-Jörg Bart on the project titled Interfacial Phenomena in Gas-liquid-liquid Systems. Born in India, Dr. Singh has his bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Aligarh Muslim University. He has his doctorate from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He has been working with Chemical Engineering Division of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai since 2000. His research interests are in CFD modeling of process equipment in general and solvent extraction in particular, chemical microprocessing and multiphase flows. He is recipient of several awards such as Award for Excellence in Doctoral Research at IIT Bombay in year 2010 and Young Engineer Award of the Department of Atomic Energy of India in year 2008.

At TU Kaiserslautern, Dr. Singh will study the phenomena observed when bubble(s) pass through the interface between a lighter liquid and a heavier liquid. The proposed research is very relevant as “bubbles, drops and particles are ubiquitous”. Though like bubbles, drops and particles, fascination of researchers with and resulting studies on drops, bubbles and particles are also ubiquitous, the phenomena Dr. Singh plans to study are relatively unexplored. He is confident that he will be able to contribute to the understanding of the behaviour of bubble(s) at the liquid-liquid interface and the phenomena which have relevance to several industrial equipment and processes. According to Dr. Singh the fascinating world of bubbles and drop beckons at the well equipped lab of Prof. Bart at TU Kaiserslautern.

    Combination of search terms

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.

    Brackets

You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).

    Phrases

Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.

    Selection criteria

You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).

If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
