AV Portal now available at av.tib.eu – new design and enhanced operating concept
HANNOVER, 7 January 2016 – Just in time for the New Year, the German National Library of Science and Technology (TIB) presents the new website for its AV Portal: the portal for scientific films from the realms of science and technology is now available at http://av.tib.eu.
The AV Portal was also relaunched to coincide with the change in domain. Users can now look forward to a modern design, adapted to TIB’s new corporate design. “In addition, we have implemented a ‘responsive web design’. The individual elements of the website and its navigation now adapt automatically to the width of the screen of the end device used. This way, the portal can also be used effectively on mobile devices such as smartphone or tablets,” explained Margret Plank who, in the capacity of Head of the Competence Centre for Non-Textual Materials at TIB, is responsible for the AV Portal.
The relaunch also features additional innovations: the operating concept has been completely revised according to the latest usability guidelines, and new functionalities have been added, such as improved watch list management; user-based adaptation of the metadata display; and the possibility to filter text by publisher.
