Comprehensive handbook on International Business Law by Rainer Arnold, Eva Feldbaum, Stefanie Kisgen, and Werner G. Faix (eds.) for lawyers and LL.M. students
In the contemporary globalized world law is no longer a predominantly national matter. The lawyer of today is necessarily confronted with the transnational dimension which appears in nearly all legal issues. All branches of law have lost their national exclusivity and are, to a high degree, exposed to the strong impacts of universal and regional international law, of supranational EU law and even of the law of foreign countries.
International commerce is at the heart of globalization and the core matter of today's juridical practice. Law profession today requires therefore a multilevel capacity: a solid knowledge basis in the own national law and, necessarily in addition, the specific abilities to understand and efficiently handle the manifold transnational issues connected to it.
Given the challenges that Business Law is facing through globalization, experts from the School of International Business and Entrepreneurship (SIBE) at Steinbeis University Berlin (Rainer Arnold, Eva Feldbaum, Stefanie Kisgen, and Werner G. Faix) edited a comprehensive handbook on International Business Law (Steinbeis-Edition 2015). The handbook intends to offer a solid knowledge basis in International Business Law with numerous contributions of experts, in accordance to the study schedule of the LL.M. program in International Business Law of Steinbeis-SIBE. It addresses to the participants of the LL.M. program and, moreover, to all lawyers with the professional focus in international business affairs.
The Handbook refers to all the major fields of International Business Law, such as International Contract Law, European Law, Commercial Law, Antitrust Law, Competition Law, Corporate Law, Mergers & Acquisitions, Insolvency Law, Compliance, International Economic Law (incl. WTO), Public Economic Law, Capital Markets Law, Corporate Taxation Law, Labor Law, Residence Law, International Civil Procedure and Mediation, all fields with a strong international perspective. The circle of authors is composed of well-known professors as well as experienced practitioners.
