Microtechnology solutions support the digitization of industrial processes

Mona Okroy-Hellweg Presse- und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit
IVAM Fachverband für Mikrotechnik

At this year’s HANNOVER MESSE, the joint pavilion of the IVAM Microtechnology Network, the Product Market "Micro, Nano & Materials" was located within the "Industrial Supply" area for the first time. The innovations presented by companies and institutes showed that the key enabling technologies micro- and nanotechnology play an important role in industrial automation and so called “Industry 4.0” concepts.

IVAM’s Managing Director Dr. Thomas R. Dietrich reports: “Our exhibitors are highly satisfied with this year's HANNOVER MESSE. The exhibition has always been an important market place for international contacts and collaborations. This year's show has also proven that the Hannover Messe is the right place for profitable deals. Several customers of the IVAM exhibitors have announced large orders." According to the organizers, 190,000 visitors came to the exhibition to make their company fit for the digital future and to invest in modern technologies. More than 50.000 visitors came from abroad.

At the joint booth of the IVAM Microtechnology Network in hall 6, companies and institutes presented wide-ranging and cross-cutting issues along the industrial value chain. Microtechnology, nanotechnology, MEMS, photonics and advanced materials make it possible to increase the efficiency of industrial processes and to enhance the reliability and quality of industry products. Especially for „Smart Factory“, a trend topic of this year’s HANNOVER MESSE, the innovations from miniaturization play a central role.

In 2017, IVAM and Deutsche Messe will pool the key enabling technologies within a new MICRO-NANO-AREA. Currently, these technologies can only be found in various halls in conjunction with sensors, the automotive industry, the medical technology industry and with smart, digital or integrated technologies. The new area should make it easier for potential customers to find suppliers and development partners.

The next HANNOVER MESSE will open its doors from April, 24 to 28, 2017. Information about possibilities to exhibit at the new MICRO-NANO-AREA are available from b2b@ivam.de.
