Für das Wintersemester 2003 / 2004 liegen insgesamt 4496 Bewerbungen vor. Dies ist im Vergleich zum Vorjahr ein Anstieg um 1,5 %.
Die höchste Steigerung von 41,9 % ist im Bereich Mechatronik festzustellen, dicht gefolgt von einem Zuwachs von 38,2 % im Bereich Bauingenieurwesen. Aber auch der Bereich Maschinenbau mit 35,4 % hat einen deutlichen Zuwachs zu verzeichnen. Rückläufig hingegen sind um 24 % die Informatik und um 17,5 % die Elektrotechnik.
In absoluten Zahlen haben sich im Bereich Architektur 172, Bauingenieurwesen 141, Betriebswirtschaft 1926, Elektrotechnik 174, Mechatronik 244, Informatik 331, Wirtschaftsinformatik 433, Maschinenbau 413, Gestaltung 348, Multimedia 128 und Umwelttechnik 186 Studenten angemeldet.
