Beim RoboCup-Symposium am vergangenen Wochenende in Leipzig haben die Wissenschaftler Alexander Hagg, Frederik Hegger und Professor Dr. Paul Plöger vom Fachbereich Informatik der Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg (H-BRS) den Best Scientific Paper Award gewonnen.
Sie schlagen in ihrer Arbeit verschiedene Modalitäten vor, wie Roboter mit den eingebauten 2D- oder 3D-Kameras transparente oder glänzende Objekte korrekt erkennen und lokalisieren können. Durchsichtige Objekte treten zwar häufig in unserer Umgebung auf, doch stellt ihre visuelle Wahrnehmung durch sogenannte Autonome Systems eines der schwierigsten offenen Probleme dar. Das Team der H-BRS aus Sankt Augustin hat Methoden entwickelt, die Messpunkte mit unbekannten Tiefeninformationen auswertet.
