The Technische Informationsbibliothek – German National Library of Science and Technology (TIB) and L3S Research Centre are jointly hosting the 20th International Conference on Theory and Practice of Digital Libraries (TPDL) in Hannover from 5 to 9 September 2016. The title of the conference is “Overcoming the Limits of Digital Archives”. The English-language conference offers an extensive programme on current and future developments in the area of digital libraries, archives and their applications. Some 300 participants from all over the world are expected to attend the event.
Workshop on videos in science communication
The aim of the half-day workshop “Videos in digital libraries: What’s in it for libraries, publishers and scientists?” at TPDL is to discuss the potential of videos in science communication. Topics such as the production, distribution and use of scientific videos will be addressed in addition to examples of best practice from various fields of research.
The workshop will take place on 8 September 2016 from 13:30 to 18:00. It is directed at representatives from academia, research, publishers, libraries, marketing and science communication. TIB is organising the workshop together with the Zentral- und Landesbibliothek Berlin (ZLB) and CERN.
