In examination year 2015 (winter semester 2014/2015 and summer semester 2015), roughly 481,600 graduates obtained a higher education degree at German institutions of higher education. Compared with examination year 2014, the number of graduates rose by 5%. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that in 2015 the Bachelor's degree was most frequent (roughly 51%). Just under one in four higher education degrees (24%) was a Master's degree.
