Er hat bereits elfmal stattgefunden, in vielen Erdteilen, und in jedem Jahr war es ein Geburtstagsgeschenk für einen herausragenden Wissenschaftler auf dem Gebiet der Statistik. Der 12. "International Workshop on Matrices and Statistics" findet vom 5. bis 8. August an der Universität Dortmund statt. Gastgeber ist Prof. Dr. Götz Trenkler, Inhaber des Lehrstuhls "Statistik und Ökonometrie", Anlass sein 60. Geburtstag.
Für die Öffentlichkeit und die Studierenden dürften vor allem drei Vorträge von Interesse sein, die am 7. August von 10:00 bis 12:30 Uhr im Hörsaalgebäude II auf dem Campus Nord der Dortmunder Uni zu hören sind. Weitere Informationen finden sich auf der Website der Universität beim Fachbereich Statistik.
