Herr Dr.-Ing. Martin Vossiek, Jahrgang 1964, wurde vom Präsidenten der TU Clausthal, Professor Dr. Ernst Schaumann, zum Professor für Messtechnik ernannt. Professor Vossiek kommt von der Siemens AG in München an die TU Clausthal, wo er zuletzt als Leiter der Fachgruppe Mikrowellensensoren und Höchstfrequenzsysteme und des Technologiezentrums für hoch integrierte Mikrowellen-Module mit 20 Mitarbeitern Sensor- Identifikations- und Kommunikationssysteme entwickelte.
Professor Vossiek studierte von 1984 bis 1991 Elektrotechnik an der Ruhr-Universität in Bochum und wurde im Jahre 1995 für seine bei Professor Dr.-Ing. H. Ermert am Lehrstuhl für Hochfrequenztechnik angefertigte Dissertation zu einem "Luftultraschall-Mehrwandlersystem zur lageunabhängigen Objekterkennung für die industrielle Automation" promoviert.
Für seine Leistungen wurde Martin Vossiek mehrfach ausgezeichnet, so u.a. im Jahr 1996 mit dem European Microwave Award für den besten Beitrag und die beste Präsentation auf der Europäischen Mikrowellen Konferenz in Prag und 1998 als Sieger des internationalen Siemens Business Plan Wettbewerbs für Mikroelektronik.
