Oktober 2017, vor der Generalversammlung der Vereinten Nationen in New York City einen Vortrag über den UN-Fachausschuss für die Rechte von Menschen mit Behinderungen. Am Dienstag, 31. Oktober 2017, ist Prof. Degener an der UC Berkeley School of Law zu Gast, um über "New Frontiers in Anti-Discrimination Law: International Human Rights Law on Persons with Disabilities" zu sprechen.
"Theresia Degener, Chair of the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities will present on the Committee's jurisprudence on the right to be protected against discrimination and the right to equality and put this jurisprudence in a broader context of human rights and disability. In particularly the focus will be on the draft General Comment No 6 on Art. 5 CRPD (equality and non discrimination)", heißt es dazu in der Ankündigung.
