Der emeritierte Ordinarius für Kleintierzucht der Universität Hohenheim Prof. Dr. Siegfried Scholtyssek ist auf Vorschlag der Fakultät für Tierzuchtwissenschaft von der ungarischen Pannon-Agraruniversität in Keszthely Ungarn mit der Würde eines Doktors der Agrarwissenschaften ehrenhalber (Dr. agr. h.c.) geehrt worden. Die ungarische Hochschule würdigte damit Scholtysseks international anerkannten herausragenden Beitrag zur Tierzuchtwissenschaft.
Die feierliche Ehrenpromotion fand bei einer akademischen Feierstunde zur Eröffnung des Studienjahres am 14. September 1998 in Kaposvar in Ungarn statt.
