Welche Rolle spielen moderne mathematische Methoden bei der Entwicklung, Produktionsplanung und Produktion industrieller Produkte? Diesem Fragekomplex widmet sich der Workshop Technomathematik, der vom 11. bis 13. September 2003 an der Fachrichtung Mathematik der TU Dresden stattfindet. In sieben Hauptvorträgen und vielen weiteren zusätzlichen Seminaren werden neue Tendenzen der Technomathematik vorgestellt und diskutiert - darunter Fragen des Studiums (welche Forderungen stellt die Industrie an die Ausbildung von Technomathematikern?), der Konstruktion (zum Beispiel: Hydrauliksimulationen für aktive Fahrsicherheit im Auto) und der Produktionsplanung.
Zum Workshop werden 50 Teilnehmer aus 12 Ländern erwartet. Er steht unter der wissenschaftlichen Leitung von Prof. Martin Weber und Professor Volker Nollau.
