Vom 21. bis 23. März 2018 richtet die Hochschule Düsseldorf die 15. Internationale Konferenz Remote Engineering & Virtual Instrumentation (REV2018) aus. Die REV ist die Jahreskonferenz der International Association of Online Engineering (IAOE) und des Global Online Laboratory Consortium (GOLC).
Die diesjährige REV steht unter dem Motto „Smart Industry & Smart Education“ und beschäftigt sich in diesem Jahr insbesondere mit der digitalen Transformation in Industrie, Wirtschaft und Bildung. Zu diesen Themen werden unter anderem Plenarvorträge von hochkarätigen Referent/innen erwartet. So wird etwa Seeram Ramakrishna, Mitglied der britischen Royal Academy of Engineering und Professor an der National University of Singapore zum Thema Industrie 4.0 in der Kreislaufwirtschaft sprechen, während Rhaman Jamal, Global Technology und Marketing Director von National Instruments sich Gedanken über die Vorbereitung von Ingenieurstudierenden im Jahr 2025 machen wird.
Die REV2018 findet nach 2008 das zweite Mal an der Hochschule Düsseldorf statt und wird durch den Fachbereich Elektro- und Informationstechnik gemeinsam mit dem Fachbereich Medien organisiert. Erwartet werden rund 140 Teilnehmer/innen aus 38 Ländern und sechs Kontinenten. Die Konferenz wird durch die Unternehmen Phoenix Contact und Yokogawa als Platinsponsoren und durch die Edunet World Association als Goldsponsor unterstützt.
