Schädliche Algenblüten im Ozean – Indikatoren für den globalen Wandel?
am Max-Planck-Institut für Physik komplexer Systeme
Schädliche Algenblüten treten dann auf, wenn bestimmte Algenarten, die potentiell schädlich für ihre Konkurrenten oder ihre Fraßfeinde sind, explosionsartig wachsen und die gesamte Dynamik des Ökosystems verändern. Einige Arten können auch Gifte bilden, die über die Nahrungskette oder durch Hautkontakt beim Baden gesundheitsschädlich für den Menschen sein können. Wir untersuchen welche biotischen und abiotischen Faktoren zu solchen Blüten führen können und wie sie sich im Meer ausbreiten können.
