Der Senat der Hochschule Mainz hat am 6. Juni 2018 einen neuen Präsidenten gewählt. Nachfolger von Amtsinhaber Prof. Dr. Gerhard Muth, der Ende April 2019 in den Ruhestand geht, wird Univ.-Prof. Dr. Oliver Kornadt.
Kornadt studierte Physik und Mathematik an der Universität des Saarlandes und absolvierte im Anschluss ein wirtschaftswissenschaftliches Aufbaustudium an der RWTH Aachen. Von 2001 bis 2012 bekleidete Kornadt eine Professur für Bauphysik an der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Seit 2012 ist er Professor für Bauphysik und Energetische Gebäudeoptimierung an der TU Kaiserslautern, seit 2017 Dekan der Fakultät Bauingenieurwesen der TU Kaiserslautern.
Oliver Kornadt wird sein Amt am 1. Mai 2019 antreten.
