From June 10th to 14th 2018, the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin für Materialien und Energie in Berlin is organizing the 20th edition of WODIM (Workshop on Dielectrics in Microelectronics), chaired by Professor Catherine Dubourdieu. After past editions in München (2000), Bad-Saarow Brandenburg (2008), and Dresden (2012), WODIM returns to Germany for its 20th anniversary.
WODIM is a renowned international biennial event, which brings together chemists, physicists, technologists and electrical engineers from around the world to discuss the newest developments in all aspects of dielectric films & nanostructures in electronics as well as in new fields where dielectrics (suppressed) provide new functionalities for their integration into emerging energy-related devices.
“In the late 1990’s, our research focused on finding new materials to continue the miniaturization of the transistors, but today, we face new challenges related to the massive increase in digitalization in all aspects of our society. We need to address issues such as power consumption and computing capacities”, explains Professor Catherine Dubourdieu. “Innovations in materials and device concepts are instrumental in revolutionizing the field of Information” adds the HZB’s scientist.
This year WODIM has 73 invited or contributed oral presentations and posters, representing contributions from 20 countries from Europe and from China, India, Israel, Japan, Ukraine, US, and Singapore.
The location for this workshop will be the Park-Inn at Berlin-Alexanderplatz.
