Mit Prof. Dr. Margit Schulze hat die Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg (H-BRS) jetzt eine weitere Forschungsprofessur besetzt. Eine Forschungsprofessur verschafft Professorinnen und Professoren durch eine reduzierte Lehrverpflichtung Zeit, in der sie sich verstärkt der wissenschaftlichen Forschung widmen können.
Prof. Dr. Margit Schulze ist Professorin für Industrielle Organische Chemie und Polymerchemie im Fachbereich Angewandte Naturwissenschaften am Campus Rheinbach der Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg.
In den Fokus ihrer Forschung gestellt hat Margit Schulze die stoffliche Nutzung nachwachsender Rohstoffe zur Herstellung für biobasierte Polymere und Verbundstoffe für Anwendungen in der Bau- und Verpackungsbranche sowie der Biomedizin. Als Rohstoffe kommen dafür unter anderem schnell wachsende Gräser der Region wie Miscanthus in Betracht.
